The City of Bruceville-Eddy has filed an Intent to Pursue Financial Assistance to fund a new waste water treatment and collection system. This document comes after a long application and negotiation period with the United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Utilities. This particular loan will also come with the ability to request grant funding for Bruceville-Eddy in order to eliminate part of the debt service obligation that will come with a loan request of up to 10.5 million dollars. We will continue to pursue this, along with the loan application request that also has been pre-approved, through the Texas Water Development Board. Both entities have a lengthy and detailed loan process which has required the City to take many, many steps. The two waste water surveys that many of the citizens filled in for the City will allow for this process to take place at a very good interest rate, long term contracts and a good chance at the up-to-rate of a 45% loan forgiveness amount with the USDA-RD. We will keep this board updated as this processes moves along.
