Emergency vs. non-emergency

Call 911 for any crime in progress, medical emergency, fire, or situation where someone’s safety is at risk. Use the non-emergency number to file a report after the fact, ask a question, follow up on a case, or report a concern that is not urgent. When you call 911, stay on the line and give your exact location — on the IH-35 corridor, note the nearest mile marker or exit if you can.

Requesting a report or record

If you were involved in a traffic crash or need a copy of a police report for insurance or court, contact the department during office hours to ask how to obtain it. Have the date, location, and any case or report number ready to speed up the request. Texas crash reports may also be available through the state’s crash-report system.

Animal services & code enforcement

To report a stray or aggressive animal, an animal bite, or a code-enforcement issue such as an abandoned vehicle or overgrown lot, call the non-emergency line. For an animal that is an immediate danger to people, call 911.

The mission of the Bruceville-Eddy Police Department is: to protect life, individual liberty and property; to preserve peace and order within the community; to prevent, investigate and control crime; to enforce federal, state and local laws and ordinances within the jurisdiction of the department; to arrest and apprehend individuals responsible for committing crimes; to recover and return lost and stolen property; to regulate and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic on public thoroughfares; and to provide police services and assistance to the citizenry. This mission is achieved through goals and objectives established by each operational component within the department.
